Dreadhaunt Crossing is an eerie part of Tonewood Forest in the opposite direction of Ian's cabin.
Its cursed geography makes it impossible to pass through without help, therefore providing an optimal place for whatever is lurking beyond it.
Guide
The red fish on Ian's cabin gives the relevant hint. To pass through, always take the path that has the big muscle flower (number of smaller flowers does not matter). Note that this may require you to go back where you just came from.
